Charles Hardin Holley (September 7, 1936 – February 3, 1959), known professionally as Buddy Holly, was an American musician and singer-songwriter and a pioneer of rock and roll. He was on the Winter Dance Party Tour along with Dion and the Belmonts

Holly died in a plane crash along with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. Dion DiMucci was supposed to be on the plane, but when he heard about the $36, he gave his seat to Ritchie.
